Pied Piper Records is a collectors' record and CD shop based in Northampton and run by Nick Hamlyn with help from Vanessa Kirkton, who would like to make it clear that although she is efficient in the shop and likes a wide range of music, she is not an expert! Nick started trading in 1982 with a single stall at the Northampton record fair - displaying just two boxes of modestly priced LPs. In 1986 he opened the shop at the premises it still occupies. Today, Pied Piper Records is one of the best known collectors' shops in the UK and it is also home to the definitive guide to the market, the Penguin Price Guide for Record and CD Collectors. Nick can be heard giving valuation advice on a number of BBC local radio stations in the Midlands and has contributed to several music magazines. The shop has extensive listings within the Amazon and MusicStack web-sites and frequently has items for auction on E-bay.
